Band-Aids application

Band-Aids or Adhesive Bandages have multiple medical applications. It can be used for treating injuries, wrapping soft tissues, as well as giving them compression and support. The more advanced band-aids come in handy after performing surgery, for instance. PhysioParts recommends the bandages from a well known "BSN Medical" brand.

Which BSN Medical band-aid to choose?

PhysioParts recommends the Tensoplast band-aids for normal skin types. This band-aid is made from cotton and rayon, which allows the skin to breath freely, does not wrinkle, and provides strong support for the tissues.

For a clavicle fracture or after removal of plasters, PhysioParts advocates using the Optiplaste-C functional immobilization tape, which can be shaped to fit almost any body part needed and has a thin adhesive layer, in turn allowing for a skin to breathe freely. If a thicker band-aid is needed, PhysioParts recommends Optiplaste-E version, which is more dense than Optiplaste C and is suitable for bandaging.

For more sensitive skin types, PhysioParts prescribes using the Leukosilk Tape. This 9.2 meters band-aid is hypoallergenic, easy to rip off from your skin and gives enough fixation for a longer duration. In case of more specialized application, like in the closure of larger wounds after surgery, PhysioParts recommends the following skin closure strips- Leukostrip. They are painless to use, have a hypoallergenic adhesive layer, can be used directly on the wounds and it will stretch in case of a swelling.
